ELISABETH CATALANO-BON: CHAIR

Elisabeth is a Registered Social Worker with the Region of Peel in the Seniors Services Division; Community Support Services in the Health Services Department. With over 19 years’ experience in Long Term Care and the Community sector, Elisabeth held positions as social worker, marketing manager, volunteer coordinator and social work consultant.  A committed advocate, Elisabeth collaborates in developing partnerships that enhance, strengthen and support “the voice” of caregivers, families and seniors in the community through reflective therapeutic practices. Very passionate about creating a collective impact, Elisabeth contributed to an article published in the Long Term Care magazine and has also published an article in the Senior Care Canada magazine.

Elisabeth holds a Bachelor of Social Work and Certificate in Gerontology from Ryerson University, has been registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers since 2000 and holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Concordia University Chicago, USA. In 2003, Elisabeth received her certificate in Leadership Skills Management through the Ontario Management Development Program (OMDP) as well as a certificate in The Management of Volunteers and Palliative Care. In 2015, she completed the Advanced System Leadership Program with the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management through the CWLHIN.

Elisabeth is now the Chair of the Board of Directors. She has been a Board Member since June 22nd, 2017.

AMIT GOYAL: VICE-CHAIR

Amit is an accomplished senior executive with extensive experience in the financial services industry both in India and Canada. He joined SBI Canada Bank, subsidiary of State Bank of India, in 2014 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Subsequently he got additional responsibility of Treasury and was also appointed Chair of the Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO) of the bank.

Prior to joining SBI Canada, Amit worked with many international banks like Citco Bank, Dundee Bank, ICICI Bank and Deutsche Bank; and held progressively senior positions. Amit is a Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) from Canada and India; and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from Colorado, USA.

Amit is actively involved with the community and voluntarily serves on the Board of Not-For-Profit Agarwals Based in Canada (ABC). Until recently, he was also on the Board of the Toronto Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) where he led the Chapter as Chair during 2014-15.

Amit is now the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors. Amit was previously the Treasurer of the Board of Directors from June 2018-June 2021. He has been a Board Member since June 28th, 2018.

DEEPALI KAPUR: TREASURER

Deepali Kapur holds a CPA, CA designation and has worked in a variety of industries, including regulatory services, corporate banking and public accounting. She has worked on numerous policy initiatives, focused on customer relationships and has provided traditional accounting services such as audit and tax.

She has been actively involved in the community through the parent council for a local school and has been involved in various fundraising initiatives.

Deepali is now the Treasurer of the Board of Directors. She has been a Board Member since June 27th, 2019.

SONIA DUPTE: SECRETARY

Sonia is a Senior member of the Advancement team and External Relations at  Brock University. She is responsible for providing leadership to the Development and Donor Relations department. Sonia has over 20 years of experience in Philanthropy and Stakeholder Engagement with organisations and institutions in International Development, Social Services, Healthcare and Higher-Education sectors including Marie Stopes International – UK, United Way Greater Toronto and Trillium Health Partners Foundation. Over the course of her career, Sonia has successfully created measurable impact in various organizations by leading revenue generating initiatives, building high performing teams, engaging senior stakeholders and leading process improvements and integration.

Sonia holds a Masters of Clinical Psychology from Karachi University and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and Project Management Professional (PMP). She resides in the Halton Region with her husband and two children.

Sonia is now the Secretary of the Board of Directors. She has been a Board Member since June 28th, 2018.

ANIL MATHUR

Anil is a thought leader with deep expertise in governance, audit and risk management. As Senior Vice-President & Chief Auditor for almost a decade, Anil was a member of CIBC’s Operating Committee charged with oversight of CIBC’s global operations. He is an industry speaker and publisher on risk, controls and audit. Anil also served as Senior Vice-President of Corporate Services with responsibility for end-to-end sourcing and procurement services, and stewardship of CIBC’s real estate portfolio globally.

Anil is actively involved in the not-for-profit sector with a focus on healthcare, environment and social enterprise.  He serves on a number of boards and is vice-chair of the Province of Ontario’s Central Services Sector Audit Committee. He also serves on the Board of Governors of the Toronto chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

KANT TRIVEDI

Kant Trivedi has 20+ years of experience in building and managing world-class customer operations within the Technology, Telecommunications and Financial Services sectors. He is currently an independent consultant offering clients a full range of tools, approaches, and insights to gain a competitive advantage through Customer Experience (CX), digital and technology transformations.

He has been involved with such charitable organizations as the United Way and sits on the board of several private and public companies.

MANINDER GIRN

Maninder holds a Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management Accounting and is a CMA and CPA and has been an entrepreneur since 2015.  His diverse career includes protecting stakeholder investments by being a Fraud investigator, Internal Auditor, Foreign Corruption Consultant and Chief Financial Officer of public companies.

He currently lives in Vaughan and has been a volunteer with the Seva Food Bank in Canada and was involved with philanthropic endeavors in the United States.

Board Member since June 24th, 2021.

MUNISH GARG

Munish is the VP, Finance at MediPharm Labs, a medical cannabis company and has extensive experience, managing the complete P&L from top to bottom, spanning across multiple industries namely pharma, biotechnology, medical devices, and financial services.

He is passionate about the healthcare industry on how it impacts people’s lives. Involving himself in community activity is an extension of that passion, where he can leverage his experience, expertise, and artistry in finance.

Board Member since June 24th, 2021.

NAMITA TALWAR

Namita is a Global Studies Leader with Roche Pharmaceuticals. She is responsible for leading a global cross functional team in executing oncology clinical trials and making a difference for patients around the world. She previously taught part-time at Humber College within the Gerontology Program. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering with seniors and helping out within the community at food banks and fundraising events.

Board Member since June 27th, 2019.

PARUL VORA

As Senior Director, Cards, Parul is responsible for the end-to-end retail cards business for RBC.

Parul was previously Senior Director, Retail Rewards, e-commerce and Customer Engagement where she was responsible for providing strategic direction for RBC Rewards.  Parul joined the RBC in 2007 as Director, Wealth Products, RBC Insurance and moved into the role of Head, Wealth Products in 2012.  In this role, Parul led a team that was passionate about providing clients with simple and sustainable investment and income solutions. Prior to this, Parul was part of a Graduate Leadership Program at Manulife Financial.

Parul has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University as well as a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business. She also holds a professional accounting designation (CPA/CMA).

Board Member since June 22nd, 2017. Parul was the Secretary on the Board of Directors from June 2019-2021 and Secretary-Acting Treasurer on the Board of Directors of Indus from July 2018 till Sept 2018.

SREYA ROY

Sreya is a labour and employment lawyer at Bernardi Human Resource Law LLP. Her practice includes litigation, investigations, training, as well as HR advisory services. Sreya is a passionate advocate and gets tremendous satisfaction from helping her clients improve their workplaces.

Prior to her legal career, Sreya worked in the non-profit sector, as a Community Developer, a Project Coordinator for an organization aimed at supporting victims of human-trafficking, and as a collective member at a Sexual Assault Support Centre.

Sreya has a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Windsor, a Master of Arts in Legal Studies and a Bachelor of Arts, Honours from Carleton University. She was called to the Ontario Bar and is a member of the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF) and the South Asian Bar Association.

VARINDER SEMBHI: EX-OFFICIO

Varinder is a Partner at Xodiac Inc, a digital transformation consulting firm and founder at BI Vu Cloud consulting. He is an experienced executive consultant specializing in data consulting, data strategy and Cloud computing. He has led teams in global companies such as Accenture, Bell, FIS, Manulife financial, RSA and RBC in various capacities.

Varinder is an engineer with an executive MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Varinder has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, United Way, old age homes and has served as an executive board member of the Sikh Religious Society of Wisconsin 

Varinder has been a Board Member since June 23rd, 2016. He was previously the Board Chair from June 2019 to June 2021, Vice-Chair from June 2018 to June 2019 and Secretary of the Board of Directors from 2017-2018.
