By now, you may or may not have heard of Apna Health, and maybe you’re wondering what exactly do we do? Well, we’re here to let you in on the scoop – Apna Health is a partnership between three strong South Asian community based Non-Profit Organizations – Indus Community Services (Indus), Punjabi Community Health Services (PCHS), and The Council of Agencies Serving South Asians (CASSA)

As a commitment to the South Asian community’s health and wellness during the pandemic and beyond – we are here to connect our South Asian community members to culturally sensitive and appropriate information and resources in their language. With the help of our Community Health Ambassadors, we are working relentlessly towards supporting the affected and most vulnerable members of our community.

Here are some ways Apna Health has provided COVID-19 support to the community:

  1. Providing information and resources in your language

Our Helpline 647-846-2233 is available 24/7 with support from a live Intake Specialist 7 days a week in Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Bengali and Punjabi. You can call us if you have any questions about health & safety during COVID-19, details on the reopening process, government benefits and support services available.

  1. Food Package Deliveries

Our Community Health Ambassadors have been working tirelessly around the clock to deliver food to families affected by the pandemic. In partnership with Eden Food for Change, we’ve been able to provide over 25 meals for families in Peel.

  1. Providing PPE kits

Our Community Health Ambassadors have also been busy packaging PPE kits. So far we have provided thousands of kits within Peel Region! You may bump into us handing out kits and information at Loblaws, The Ontario Khalsa Darbar and COVID-19 testing sites, just to name a few.

If you or anyone you know needs food packages delivered, financial, mental or medical assistance or require information support – call us today at 647-846-2233 or email us at info@induscs.ca
